Our Story: From Chronic Illness to a New Life

For years, before our car accident in 2018, I had been suffering from severe health problems. I had chronic gout, fibromyalgia, dermatitis, gastrointestinal problems and chronic fatigue. I also experienced symptoms resembling multiple sclerosis, although I did not have MS. My condition became so severe that I could no longer lift a cup of coffee. I lost my vision on one occasion and experienced blackouts.

A specialist told me that I would have to live with the pain for the rest of my life.

The Accident and Its Aftermath

In 2018, my wife and I were involved in a head-on car accident that was not our fault. The accident brought additional difficulties for both of us.

I suffered from whiplash, memory problems, PTSD and extreme pain. I became increasingly unwell and eventually could no longer walk properly. I was prescribed oxycodone and numerous other medications to manage the pain.

My wife also suffered from the consequences of the accident, and both of us experienced problems that seriously affected our everyday lives.

Eventually, my doctor told me that I was 100% incapacitated and no longer able to work.

I was angry and determined not to give up. I joined a gym, despite my physical condition. Using a walking frame, it took me 20 minutes to walk just 100 metres to get there.

Discovering Carnivore

On 17 December 2024, I started the Carnivore diet. After years of illness, pain and declining health, I began to experience a remarkable improvement in my wellbeing.

I lost 50 kg (110 pounds or 7 stone 12 lb), and the health problems that had dominated my life improved dramatically. Today, I am no longer taking medication, I have almost no symptoms, I can walk again, and I go to the gym five times a week.

Seeing the remarkable improvement in my health, my wife decided to start the Carnivore diet a year later. She, too, has experienced immense benefits, and most of the problems she had been experiencing have now almost disappeared.

Our Journey

Our experiences have changed our lives and the way we think about food, nutrition and wellbeing. After years of struggling with serious health problems and the consequences of the accident, we have both experienced significant improvements.

Before finding an approach that worked for me, I tried various ways of eating including Vegetarian, Mediterranean, Paleo, Keto, and Carnivore. These experiences taught me that changing your diet is a process of learning what works for you in practice. They also shaped our approach at Healing by Nutrition: we offer personalised nutritional plans that can accommodate different dietary approaches, including Carnivore, Keto and other options suited to individual goals and preferences.

This is our story: two people who faced major health challenges, discovered a different approach to nutrition, and experienced positive changes that we had once found difficult to imagine.

Why We Created Healing by Nutrition

After everything we have experienced, we want to put what we have learned to practical use by helping others improve their health, fitness and quality of life.

We know how difficult it can be when health problems limit your everyday life, and how meaningful it can be to regain strength, mobility and confidence. Our own experiences have shaped our approach to nutrition, exercise and wellbeing, and inspired us to share that knowledge with others.

Through Healing by Nutrition, we offer three structured programmes with personalised nutritional plans, practical guidance and exercise support. Our aim is to help people work towards their individual goals and make lasting changes that fit their lives.

What began as our personal journey has become our shared motivation to help others move towards better health and fitness.

Fifty kilograms lighter and training weekly

Years ago, Michael carried severe excess weight and faced chronic health problems. By changing his diet to focus on low-carbohydrate animal foods and cooking with animal fats at home, he lost more than 50 kilograms (110 pounds or 7 stone 12 lb).

Today, we both lift weights at the gym five days a week and take regular outdoor walks. Michael spent four years learning from an experienced bodybuilder, developing his knowledge and practical experience of resistance training and nutrition.

Our personal experiences have inspired us to help others improve their health, fitness and wellbeing through our three structured programmes, offering practical guidance and personalised plans to help people work towards their own goals.

We share our personal journey, our experiences with different ways of eating, and how changing our approach to food and making training part of our everyday lives has changed our lives.
